How we work together
There's no right or wrong here. You feel the way you feel, and we work from there.
My goal is to offer a safe, accepting space where you feel understood. Whether you’re facing life changes, stress or anxiety, healing from the past, or seeking change, I’ll help you explore what’s working, what isn’t, and what growth could look like. Together, we’ll work toward greater clarity, confidence, and balance.
Our first session is a chance to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of trust.
I’ll invite you to share what brings you to therapy, what you’d like to focus on, and what feels most important to you right now. There’s no pressure to have the “perfect story”—we’ll start wherever you are.
I’ll also explain how I work, answer any questions you have, and together we’ll begin shaping a plan that supports your goals.
My hope is that you leave our first meeting feeling seen, heard, and encouraged—knowing you don’t have to navigate this process alone.
Every person and every family is different, so I don't use a template. We start with what you're dealing with right now and decide together what’s next.
About therapy
-
Evidence-based practices are therapeutic approaches that research has shown help people manage emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. I will draw on skills from several evidence-based practices: CBT, DBT, and mindfulness.
-
Trauma-informed care is a therapeutic approach that recognizes how past and present experiences can affect a person's emotional, mental, and physical well-being. It emphasizes safety, trust, compassion, and collaboration while honoring each person's unique experiences.
Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" trauma-informed care asks, "What have you been through?" It creates a supportive, judgment-free space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered as they work toward healing and growth.
The goal is to help clients build resilience, regain a sense of control, and move forward at their own pace.
-
It's a safe, supportive space to find clarity, strengthen coping skills, and make meaningful changes. You don't need to be in crisis to reach out; sometimes, simply wanting things to feel different is reason enough.
-
Men don't always have the same opportunities or safe spaces to explore their emotions and have open, honest conversations without judgment. Therapy provides that space. It offers an opportunity to work through stress, anxiety, relationships, and life's challenges while building emotional awareness, healthier coping skills, and stronger connections.
About family therapy
-
I work with clients across the lifespan, supporting individuals of all ages. My training and experience across developmental stages allow me to tailor therapy to each person's unique needs, experiences, and stage of life.
-
Privacy is one of the most important values in therapy, especially for teenagers. A safe space to speak openly and honestly, without fear of judgment, is essential for building trust and making progress. I respect privacy while recognizing the importance of keeping parents or caregivers involved in their well-being.
I maintain confidentiality within legal and ethical guidelines, with exceptions for safety concerns or a risk of harm.
-
It's common for teens to feel hesitant about therapy, especially when it isn't their choice. I believe building trust and connection comes first. Rather than forcing conversations or expecting immediate participation, I meet teens where they are, respect their pace, and create a comfortable, judgment-free space. The goal is to help them feel heard, respected, and involved in their growth.
-
Family Systems Therapy is an approach that recognizes that family members are interconnected and that each person's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors can affect the whole family. Rather than focusing on one individual as the problem, therapy examines relationship patterns, communication, and family dynamics.
The goal is to help families better understand one another, strengthen connections, improve communication, and develop healthier ways to navigate challenges together. Each family member brings strengths and perspectives that contribute to positive change.
